Two talented national under-20 reps, Breyton Legge and John Muller, were met with exciting news yesterday, as they were signed to join the Swire Shipping Fijian Drua development program for the upcoming 2025 season.
Legge, a skilled loosehead prop, expressed his joy at the chance to represent his country and compete in the Super Rugby competition, fulfilling a lifelong dream.
“It feels great. I’ve always dreamed of playing for my country and playing in the super rugby competition,” said Legge.
With nine appearances for the Fiji Under-20 team and recent participation in the U20 World Rugby Championship, Legge has demonstrated his talent and commitment to the sport.
Muller, another promising player, has already gained valuable experience by representing Fiji in the U20 World Cup and contributing to the Fiji Warriors’ victory in the Pacific Rugby Cup in 2023.
“It is a dream come true and I am very grateful for the opportunity to join the Fijian Drua. I can’t wait to start training with the team,” stated Muller.
Speaking about the recent selection, Fijian Drua Development and Skills Coach Ifereimi Rawaqa commended their progression from the Fiji Rugby High-Performance Unit program to the Drua Development team.
Rawaqa praised Legge’s skills and quick adaptability, as well as Muller’s hardworking attitude and aggressive playing style, highlighting their potential for growth and success with further professional development through the Drua program.
Over the past two years, development players such as Livai Natave, Philip Baselala, Taniela Rakuro, Motikiai Murray, Mesake Vocevoce, and Sikeli Rabitu have been given opportunities to earn contracts in the prestigious Super Rugby Pacific competition.
