NEW YORK – Mr Barron Trump, the youngest child of former President Donald Trump, has enrolled as a freshman at New York University in Manhattan, his father said in an interview that was published on Sept 4.
Trump had teased his son’s choice of college for months, but in the interview, which was conducted on video by The Daily Mail, he revealed that Mr Barron Trump had chosen to attend NYU’s Stern School of Business.
“He’s a very smart guy, and he’ll be going to Stern Business School, which is a great school at NYU,” Trump said in the interview. “He’s a very high-aptitude child, but he’s no longer a child. He’s just passed into something beyond child-dom.”
The university declined to confirm the younger Trump’s enrolment, but The New York Post published photos on Sept 4 of Mr Barron Trump arriving on campus, flanked by Secret Service agents, a backpack over his shoulder.
NYU had an acceptance rate of 8 per cent for the class of 2028, and charges nearly US$63,000 (S$81,994) a year in tuition.
It is not known if Mr Barron Trump, 18, plans to live on campus or in his childhood home at Trump Tower, in midtown Manhattan.
Donald Trump graduated from the University of Pennsylvania, as did three of his other four children. NYTIMES
