Rylan Clark lashed out at ‘rude b*****ds’ following a backlash sparked by his road rage tirade regarding people using zebra crossings.

The BBC Radio 2 presenter swiftly deleted his controversial tweet after facing criticism for branding a pedestrian a ‘rude p**ck’ for failing to express gratitude for being ‘allowed’ to cross.

On his X, once known as Twitter, he fumed: “I know it’s the law and that pedestrians have right of way at zebra crossings… BUT SAY THANK YOU OR POP UR HAND UP. Rude pr**ks… (Stuck in traffic and annoyed).”

It wasn’t long before Rylan caved to pressure, making the tweet ‘no longer available’ as users blasted his outburst online.

Social media was abuzz with reactions such as “Ah, I see Rylan is jeopardising his National Treasure status by having a go at the zebra crossing community. I’m sorry, but this topic isn’t as black and white as you might think,” and another venting: “I love Rylan, but I will take my time at a zebra crossing, and will shout at any driver that doesn’t respect my RIGHT OF WAY.”

“No hun, this ain’t it,” chided yet another user.

Unfazed, Rylan clapped back: “Some of your replies are just so 2024. Have a lovely day you rude b*****ds.” Amidst the controversy, some fans expressed solidarity with Rylan’s initial stance; one commented: “Agree!! And when you let someone out or filter in traffic and they don’t say thank you.”

Another individual expressed their frustration, remarking: “It doesn’t take a second to say thank you, some people are just so entitled and rude,” while one person voiced their dissent: “Just can’t get with you on this one.” Rylan Clark also shared a humorous GIF of Jerry Seinfeld captioned: “Where’s yo manners” in a subsequent tweet. In a light-hearted comment, a fan enquired if he was ‘still stuck in traffic’.

This follows the revelation by Rylan Clark about why he decided to step down as host of the Strictly Come Dancing spin-off, It Takes Two. The beloved television and radio host made his departure from the BBC programme public in April last year, after a four-year stint. Sharing his feelings on social media, the 34 year old stated: “Been a pleasure @bbcstrictly.”

He elaborated in his statement: “After four fantastic years it’s time for me to hang up my glittery jacket and say goodbye to It Takes Two. I’ve had the best time hosting alongside Janette and Zoe and I can’t thank the amazing team enough for always putting on a great show. I’ve been welcomed into the Strictly family and will firmly hold that title dear to me. The time has come for me to pass on the baton to someone else and explore what else life has for me. Thank you Strictly, you will always have my heart…and my dancing feet.”

In a candid chat, he explained his departure: “I’ve been doing the same type of job for 10 years. For me, I just got to the point, ‘What do I want? What would I like to be? Who do I want to be? What show do I want to do in the future?,” as he confided to The Sun. “And it’s really hard to try to work that out while you’re doing different things. So I had to take that step back, have a minute to myself, let it breathe, and not turn on the TV and see yourself while you’re watching what everyone else is doing.”
