Michael Schumacher could be set to attend another wedding in the near future after reportedly making his first public appearance in nearly 11 years. The seven-time F1 world champion was said to have attended the marriage of daughter Gina, 27, to Iain Bethke.

The pair tied the knot at the family’s luxury villa in Majorca, situated by the glamorous resort of Port d’Andratx.

Schumacher, 55, suffered a serious skiing accident in Grenoble in December 2013 which left him with life-changing brain injuries.

After spending months in a medically induced coma, he returned to his home at Lake Geneva in Switzerland in September 2014. He’s since been cared for by his wife Corinna and a team of medical professionals, with the family opting not to release any details of his condition.

However, according to reports, Schumacher attended his daughter’s private ceremony. Guests were asked to leave their mobile phones at the door, and Majorcan outlet Ultima Hora said the service lasted around 30 minutes.

No media were permitted to attend, but Gina did post a picture of the newlyweds once the service was over. Alongside the snap, she wrote: “Forever yes to you, yes forever.”

And now another Schumacher wedding celebration looks on the cards. Corrina and Michael’s son Mick Schumacher got engaged on the weekend to his long-term girlfriend Laila Hasanovic.

The lingerie model took to Instagram this weekend to share a photo of a ring on her finger, along with the caption: “Then it’s game over.” Schumacher Jnr himself is yet to post about the engagement on social media.

Mick, 25, was skiing with his father when he suffered his crash in the French Alps. It wasn’t until March 2017 however that he first talked publicly about his influence, describing him as an ‘idol’ and ‘role model’.

But his good news away from the track isn’t currently being reflected on it. After being released by Haas in 2022, Mick has served as a reserve driver for Mercedes, and seems set to be without a frontline seat in 2025.

He had been in the running for a place at Sauber alongside compatriot Nico Hulkenberg. However, chief technical officer Matt Binotto has seemingly ruled Schumacher out of contention, with Valtteri Bottas instead set to be offered an extended deal.
