Hon. John Tuhaika Jr, Minister of Public Service, engaged in a constructive dialogue with Mr. Rasmus Lumi, Director General of the Department of International Organization and Human Rights from Estonia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, during the event in New York.
The Republic of Estonia has expressed interest to assist Solomon Islands in its digital transformation efforts.
This commitment was reaffirmed during a bilateral meeting between the two countries held on the sidelines of the 79th Session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) recently.

The conversation focused on e-government initiatives and the potential for collaboration between Solomon Islands and Estonia in this area.
As one of the world’s leading nations in e-government, Estonia is renowned for its cutting-edge digital infrastructure and public services.
During the meeting, Estonia reiterated its readiness to assist Solomon Islands in advancing its digital transformation.
Estonia also extended an invitation to Solomon Islands to visit and witness its e-government developments in person.
Minister Tuhaika acknowledged the progress made by Solomon Islands but stressed that there is still much to be done to achieve full digital transformation and modernize the public service.
“We recognize that we have a long road ahead in terms of modernizing our public service through digital transformation. The support of a global leader like Estonia in digital public service delivery will be invaluable as we move forward,” Minister Tuhaika stated.
The meeting represents a key step towards collaboration between the two countries in e-government, with the aim of improving public service delivery and governance through technology.
