TOKYO (Kyodo) — Japan’s new Prime Minister Shigeru Ishiba said Wednesday that conditions are not in place for another interest rate increase by the Bank of Japan.

After his meeting with BOJ chief Kazuo Ueda, Ishiba said he had expressed hope that the continuation of accommodative monetary conditions will support Japan’s economic growth.
